Cherry Compote Matcha Latte Recipe

Summer is the cherry season, so make sure to try this Cherry Compote Matcha Latte. It brings the rich, deep red cherry flavor against a creamy milk middle and a vibrant matcha green top; a drink that's as satisfying to look at as it is to sip. Serve it warm for a comforting treat, or over ice for a refreshing pick-me-up any time of day.

Ingredients:

  • 50 g cherry compote (homemade or store-bought)

  • 200 g milk, warm or cold (dairy or plant-based)

  • 5 g matcha powder

  • 15 g hot water

  • Ice cubes (optional, if serving cold)

Preparation Steps:

1. Add the Cherry Compote

Spoon 50 g of cherry compote into the bottom of a tall glass.

2. Add Ice Cubes (Optional)

If you're serving the latte cold, add a handful of ice cubes on top of the cherry compote.

3. Pour the Milk

Slowly pour 200 g of milk over the cherry compote (and ice, if using). Pour carefully and down the side of the glass to keep the layers distinct.

4. Prepare the Matcha Layer

Mix 5 g of matcha powder with 15 g of hot water. Whisk thoroughly until smooth, with no lumps.

5. Top with the Matcha Layer

Gently pour or drizzle the matcha mixture over the milk layer to create a beautiful layered effect.

Pro Tips

Pour slowly and let the liquid run down the back of a spoon to keep those layers clean and defined. Give it a good stir before your first sip to bring all the flavors together. Reach for our Ceremonial Matcha for that bright green color and a smooth, lump-free whisk every time.
